My name is Joseph Burnett and this is my art.  I have found photography to be a perfect hobby for the attention deficit as I can capture an idea in 1/250th of a second.  Most of what I know about photography has been self taught, something which is not difficult to do with a digital camera. 

The photographs featured on this website have been taken over the last couple years as I was travelling around the world.  I have tried to give you some background information about the places and how I made the images, but the most important part is the images.  For your convinience, I have divided my notes generally into technical and creative thoughts.

I shoot with a Canon 10D Digital SLR. The lenses which I use the 17-40mm L USM Wide Angle Zoom lens, 20mm f2.8 Lens, 50mm f1.4 lens and 100mm f2.6 Macro lens. Other tools I use are an eye piece extender, remote shutter release and a well placed hand to stop lens flare.  Most of my setups are not fancy and I try to shoot without a flash whenever possible.

This website runs on Joomla which is an open source content management system.  That means that it is database driven and each page is dynamically generated as you move through the website.  That has allowed me to move things around and update the content without rewriting everything.  If you would like to know more about photography and/or website design, please visit the links page to see some of the books and resources I have found to be invaluable.
