Flower by the Columbia River
Yellow Flower

Creative Notes

We stopped at an overlook alongside the Columbia River for a few minutes before crossing.  Beside a weather-beaten bush was this small patch of yellow flowers.  This composition is meant to bring out the symmetry and intricate details of this tiny yellow flower.  (Notice the two bugs)

Technical Notes

Capturing this image was not too difficult because despite the clouds, there was still a lot of light.  I adjusted the levels because the image was slightly underexposed and touched the saturation, but the colors in the image are true.  I didn't reduce the saturation of the background, rather just choose a flower with some dead organic material as a backdrop.
