Ceiling of the Dome
jer-08-350.jpg

Creative Notes

In the process of capturing the ceiling inside the Dome of the Rock, I choose an angle that would show all that it had to offer while also providing a perspective on it's setting. The sweeping arc that is formed by the two thirds of the dome that is visible was meant to be asthetic and was placed to provide the greatest impact.

Technical Notes

Because of the relatively low lighting in this structure, a very slow shutter speed had to be used. This was only possible by bracing the camera solidly on a stone railing and several exposures were taken before one sharp enough came out.
