Dome and Sundial
jer-09-300.jpg

Creative Notes

The clear blue sky, the shining gold of the dome and the rough stone archway provide a great deal of contrast. This photo is a very fragmented view of the Dome of the Rock and only shows the top of the building. It is meant to be a composition which contrasts the textures and colors of the dome with the surrounding architecture. The inclusion of the sundial provides a second point of interest in what would otherwise be a photograph that does not hold the attention for very long.

Technical Notes

At the time this image was taken, I was suffering from a dirty sensor. This problem is characterized by small dark spots which show up at smaller f-stops, usually starting around f/8. This image has a very simple backdrop and the problematic spot was eaily edited out, however I immediately set to work cleaning my camera when I got home.
