Flying Into The Himalayas
lad-01-350.jpg

Creative Notes

This is a very straight forward photograph powered by the majestic peaks of the Himalayas which seem to stretch on forever. The dramatic lighting of early morning makes them seem razor sharp. The brown valley in the foreground and the ridges which are drawn to it provide a little bit of movement and the solitary moon the only point of interest in the vast blue sky.

Technical Notes

Flying this high, the sky turns a deep blue along the top because of the thinning atmosphere. This photograph was taken from the window of a jet with a very wide angle lens. The only way to get a clear shot was to lay the camera right up against the window and focus manually.
