Holding On

Creative Notes

The walk around the Taj Mahal revealed more than just a great view of the old mausoleum. The gardens were teaming with life, from the birds to the smallest bugs. While this is not why most people visit the Taj, it was enough to thrill this photographer. This little bug was just as high as he could go and holding on for dear life.

Technical Notes

This image was taken with a 100mm macro lens and while it was bright and sunny day, without a flash there was not enough light to stop down. The result is a very narrow depth of field, which is evident in the unfocused antennae and details of his face. Nevertheless, the concept is communicated well enough and is hopefully somewhat entertaining.
