I heard about this event from someone who handed me and article from the newspaper. That day, two other people told me about it, so I knew that I had to go. The event was a wine sale at the Mapocho, put on my El Mercurio. I've had been wanting to go there ever since I saw the huge glass door in a photograph, so I took my camera and met a friend. The Mapocho is an old train station, now a cultural center. They have exhibitions there and events like this one. While I was waiting for my friend to arrive, I found a gallery of black and white photographs from Jerusalem by Alex Levac. One of them featured a favorite corner of mine where I used to get coffee and sandwiches. Salmon with cream-cheese was always my favorite. How strange it is to go all the way around the world to find a photograph of your favorite corner.
Once we went entered the wine sale, we found tons of great deals. Wines were going for 25 to 50 percent off! Unfortunately I couldn't buy anything because I didn't have an El Mercurio card. So these couple of photographs are all that I brought back. It was nice to get out of the house because I have been working rather continuously for the last couple weeks. It was a beautiful day and we went for a cup of coffee afterward. Life is good!
