Mt. Manquehue
hdr_0001-350.jpg

Creative Notes

Climbing up the hill behind my house at 5am is the only way to get this image: Manquehue basking in the light of Santiago. While the mountain and the city lights are the focus of the composition, I needed a foreground. For this I used the cliff halfway up the hill. That meant leaning a little too far over the edge for comfort.

Technical Notes

This was one of my first High Dynamic Range images, composed of three exposures. For that reason the technical aspects of the image isn't so great, but I like to share it because of the feeling that it has, the power of this strange place in the middle of the night.
